I believe that honesty and integrity are crucial in the blogging community. I will always include disclosure of relationships with brand or PR companies when relevant. This blog is a personal blog written and edited by me and at times I may accept forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation. For questions about this blog, please contact me.
I am happy to review products if I think it is something that fits with my blog and you, my readers, would like to hear about it. They will be written by me when a brand or PR company has sent a product for me or a member of my family in exchange of a review. All reviews will be honest and truthful, sharing what I like and what I didn’t. I will include relevant links to the brand’s own website or an online retailer, alongside a full review of the product with a photographs that either I have taken, or that were provided to me. It will be clearly disclosed in the text that I have received the product for free in exchange for the review. If I’ve purchased something and I love it, I may review it too, but I will always let you know when this is the case.
Occasionally I may be asked, and paid, to host content that has been written and provided by a brand or PR company. I reserve the right to change the wording to fit with the style of my blog, but essentially this is not something I have written, it is something that I am publishing in exchange for a cash payment. It may say it is in “collaboration with” or “in partnership with” or “this is a contributed post” but it will be clear to you, the reader, that this is an advertorial, not written by me and paid for.
Sponsored posts differ from advertorial posts, in that these are posts that I have been paid to write and publish on my blog. I will write posts of this type when I believe the content to be relevant to this blog. These posts are not reviews because I have not been sent a product to try, but I may talk about a product, or a company or services, often with a link to their website. Again this post may say “featured” or “in collaboration”, ”sponsored” or “in partnership with”. I have not received a product, in this instance, but will have received payment or vouchers.
These posts are written by friends, often other bloggers, either because I have asked them to do so, or because they asked me if they could. Often these posts are about expat or other issues that the writer feels passionately about. No money will ever change hands for a guest post, but hugs may occur.
I may serve as an ambassador for a brand and be compensated for being part of a campaign. Typically I will be required to write a set number of blog posts and promote the campaign on social media, rather it be twitter, facebook, pinterest, instagram, or google+. I will only take on ambassador roles when I strongly believe that they campaign is relevant and I may write more posts or share more often than the campaign requires. Compensation for ambassador roles will vary dependent upon the campaign.
