Today I did something that I absolutely loathe doing; I removed a post that had been previously published on my blog. You see, I’d featured another expat, an author who publishes her novels for kindle, then she went and decided to ditch that particular nom de plume and remove the novel I’d let her publicize on my blog from Amazon. This left me with a load of broken links – urls that go nowhere, or don’t go where they should anyway – and as any good blogger knows, broken links are bad for blogs. Most frustrating.
It pained me to pull the post because it was the beginning of a series of posts that I’ve just started, ‘Expats Who Rock’. As many of your are aware, my expat journey started off a bit rocky to say the least. For me, it was too much change all at once – marriage, baby, transatlantic move. It took me time to learn to love the UK. Part of my heart will probably always be in Oregon, but England is now my home. Along the way, through blogging, facebook, and twitter I’ve met some amazing expats, expats who rock. And since during the academic year, I don’t have anywhere near as much time as I would like, to post here, I thought I would introduce you to some of the truly amazing expat women I know here in the UK.
Needless to say, I’m planning to relaunch ‘Expats who Rock’ next week and I’d love to hear from you. Are you an Expat Who Rocks? Do you know someone else who is? Please contact me via my Contact Form or Twitter [@silentbeauty] today!
