This is a bit of an odd month for me. I’m done with university until September, but the boys still have work and school. I’m trying to maintain some semblance of order in my life by setting some monthly goals. I hope you all will keep me accountable.
I haven’t been getting enough exercise the last couple of weeks. It’s a fact that my body has taken to reminding me of every time I walk up the hill to Nicholas’s school. I’m determined that even on the really rainy days, when I don’t want to leave the house, I’ll get on the Wii balance board and do something.
I’m taking part in NaBloPoMo (aka National Blog Posting Month) on BlogHer. I expect some of my posts will be absolute crap, but I’m hoping there will be some brilliant ones to allow me to redeem myself. Mostly I’m doing this because sitting down and blogging daily will challenge me and require some self-discipline, but I also hope this helps make blogging regularly easier when my life gets hectic again.
During the last year I’ve done far, far less baking then I really like to. Baking cupcakes for Nicholas to take to his school’s Summer Fayre has reminded me how rewarding making yummy pretty things can be. Next Monday Nicholas is supposed to take a small selection of food from his own culture into school to share with his classmates and another reception class that will be visiting that day. Hubby thinks I should make brownies. Nicholas’s teacher suggested cookies. I’m thinking Snickerdoodles or Chocolate Chip Cookies are the way to go. What foods do you think of as being American?
What do you hope to accomplish this month?
