So awhile ago, Haley @ Simply Hayley tagged me in Brits in Bosnia’s Stories and Songs Meme and while I’ve wanted to participate I’ve had a very hard time picking a Story and Song to share.
To quote Brits in Bosnia:
What I’m after is a song that reminds you of something, that has a story for you. Not necessarily your favourite song or a even a song that you love, but a song that instantly takes you back to that time and place.
Here’s my story:
It’s the summer of 2005 and I’m working at Sandy Hill Camp as a cabin counselor/lifeguard/guitar instructor. The summer began with staff training and one of the things I remember most is Hubby playing his guitar and singing the following song quite loudly during training session breaks:
It wasn’t the song that brought us together – to be honest the loud outgoing persona Hubby was attempting to project was a bit intimidating and off putting.
No, it was the fact that one night towards the end of staff training, he had the guts to continue soaking me with a super soaker after he realized it was me and the ‘oh shit’ look crossed his face. . . =)
To this day that song reminds me of that summer – when I set out to find myself and found my future.
It seems like everyone’s been tagged in this one at some point, but if you haven’t and you want to share your song with us, then I tag you!
