Today there were a couple of simple things that brought me a great deal of joy. Rick took Nicholas to visit his parents for a while this afternoon which gave me a couple hours of much need and appreciated quiet me time. I had a glorious bath and used a Butterball Bath Ballistic that I’ve had waiting to be used from LUSH for over a week. I think I’d forgotten how lovely and smooth my skin feels after soaking for awhile in the tub with one of these. . . It was also wonderful to get to start a new book without my favourite 2 year old trying to get my attention every 5 to 7 minutes. =)
I also got to go through the collection of recipes that I’ve clipped out of magazines from various grocery stores and parenting freebies since I’ve been in England. Looking back over some of the recipes I’m not sure what I was thinking when I initially saved them. On a positive note I did find the chocolate muffin recipe that I wanted to make for breakfast on Valentine’s Day. . .
I love to cook and bake and try to make new things. Sometimes they get made again and sometimes the recipes disappear into the abyss of our recycling bin instead. One recipe that I’ve finally got right (all on my own as well) is my Roasted Veg Lasagne. To save hours of time Roasting Veg in the oven in preparation, I’ve taken to throwing all of it into our actifryer with a little olive oil, sea salt, and Itallian mixed herbs.
Tomorrow is full of church, visiting Rick’s Aunt Jean, and buying seeds to start growing for what will hopefully be a small vegetable patch. . . so off to sleep I go!
Peace to you all. . .
